Settings

The Server Settings tab in the Pterodactyl panel provides critical functionality for managing your game server. This page will guide you through each section and explain how to use the features to maintain your server effectively.

SFTP Details

Server Address

  • Description: The SFTP server address is used to establish a secure connection for transferring files between your local machine and the game server.
  • Usage: Input this address in your SFTP client to start the file transfer process.
  • Example Address: sftp://node1.yourhosting.net:2022

Username

  • Description: Your unique identifier for SFTP access.
  • Usage: Enter this username in your SFTP client along with the server address to connect.
  • Example Username: yourusername.3b9ac49e

SFTP Password

  • Note: The SFTP password is identical to your panel access password. Ensure you keep it secure and do not share it with unauthorized users.

Change Server Details

Server Name

  • Function: Rename your server to reflect its purpose or the game it hosts.
  • Instructions: Enter a new server name and click 'Save' to update.

Server Description

  • Function: Provide a detailed description of your server to inform users of its configuration or any special rules.
  • Instructions: Enter a description and click 'Save' to apply the changes.

Debug Information

Node

  • Purpose: Indicates the specific node your server is running on, which can be useful for troubleshooting.
  • Details: For example, 'Node1'.

Server ID

  • Purpose: A unique identifier for your server used for API interactions and support requests.
  • Details: It is formatted as a UUID (e.g., 3b9ac49e-6022-44f1-a12a-e5b93860fbd7).

Reinstall Server

  • Warning: Clicking 'Reinstall Server' will stop your server and initiate a reinstallation process. This can result in the deletion or modification of files.
  • Recommended Action: Always backup your data before proceeding with reinstallation to prevent data loss.
  • NOTE: This does not delete all files by default, it will only remove and replace the files to run the server. Please delete all files in the file browser if you'd like to start fresh.
