# Changing your game (Egg Changer)

## Use the billing site to change game

Want to switch your server to a different game, or a different type of the
same game (e.g. Minecraft Paper → Fabric)? **Do it from the billing site's
Change Game button**, not from the game panel:

1. Go to [suhosting.net](https://suhosting.net) → **Services** → your server.
2. Click **Change Game** and follow the steps.

## Why not the Egg Changer in the panel?

The game panel's **Settings** tab has an **Egg Changer** card (in the panel,
each game or server type is called an *egg*). It does switch the game, but the
billing site doesn't find out.

<p class="callout danger"><strong>Please don't use the panel's Egg Changer to change game.</strong> The billing site still thinks your server runs the old game and plan. If your server ever has to be rebuilt (for example during maintenance or a move), it's reinstalled with the <strong>original game</strong>, and your new game's files could be lost.</p>

Change Game on the billing site keeps everything in sync. It also backs up your
server first and puts you on the right plan for the new game.
